Nov. 9th, 2014 02:56 pmSo I went to church for the first time in years today. The pastor is a man I've known for most of my life (him and my parents were in a Christian band when I was a kid). While he is a bit of a Bible thumper (he IS a southern Baptist preacher...), and he only made one comment about Obama that made me roll my eyes, he said something that I think A LOT of people should know: BEING A CHRISTIAN DOES NOT MAKE ME BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE. He also said: I am no better than anyone else; it is through Christ that I am made a better person.
After the service I moved my letter to this church and we got to talking about that and he agreed with me that there are way too many Christians who think that because they are Born Again that they are better than those of other faiths. And that could not be any less true. God never says that His children are better than those they should minister to, He says we should show them a better way to live.
